And now it is Easter, the time for the earth to come back to life, for the sun to send her warm embrace on all of us and to celebrate the biggest gift of all the Atonement and Resurrection. The Savior is the center of my whole life right now. I keep reminding myself when things get hard, that this life is only but for a moment. I know because of the amazing gifts of the Atonement and Resurrection that I will without a doubt see my son again. His body will be healed and I will know him. I think this might be my new favorite time of year. It feels like I am coming to life too.
If you would like to help with the next Aaron's Errand (the only reason why I am even putting this on my blog is because so many wanted to help). We will be helping Primary Children's Hospital Collection for Easter Baskets
Easter Sunday is April 4. If you would like to provide Easter baskets for children at the hospital, please plan to deliver them on or before Tuesday, March 30. Primary Children’s accepts three options for Easter baskets:
Baskets may be delivered completed and wrapped in cellophane
Baskets may be delivered unassembled and staff will put them together.
Individual items such as cellophane, baskets, ribbon or items for the baskets may be donated separately.
When purchasing or collecting items for the baskets, please keep the following in mind:
Items in baskets for children should not have choke-able items.
All candy should be individually wrapped and cannot be homemade.
Weapons (even as simple as a squirt gun) will not be given to patients.
Please note baby and teen baskets are needed the most.
Number of items in the basket. The best baskets include about 4-6 items and candy. For instance, a teen girl might have candy, nail polish, a small journal, socks, and lotion. For a baby basket, candy (for mom and/or dad), a bib, one boards book, small stuffed animal, and rattle.
For more information see here: PMC EASTER BASKET PROJECTPreston and I will be going to the Hospital on the 30th for a doctors appointment and we would love to drop off a few baskets. If you would like to join us please give us your basket full of the suggested items by Monday the 29th and we will take it for you. Thank you again for all your help.
Brandi you are so good! I know all of your acts of service are greatly appreciated by so many. I am so lucky to have a friend like you. I hope you are doing good. 11 miles this week - ugh!
ReplyDeleteBrandi-I can't tell you how much I appreciate the opportunities you are providing for service! I would love to donate some stuff for baskets. I am not very good at the putting together part of it, but I have a couple bags of stuff I bought that could be used in easter baskets. Could I drop them off to you to bring to the hospital? I don't know where you live-could you let me know?
ReplyDeleteAgain, thank you for the chance to serve!
You don't know me, but my niece (whom you don't know, either) sent me a link to your blog. I have also been faced with the possibility of losing our son, but Heavenly Father had a different plan for our family than He did for yours. I just have to say how happy I am that you are blogging about your struggles and triumphs. I love how you are sharing your testimony and how easy you are making it for those who might be interested in investigating our church. THANK YOU. This is exactly what you are supposed to be doing right now, touching lives. We are going through our own set of struggles right now and today while reading post after post of yours, it made me realize that I am not alone in my struggles. I will always have our big brother, our Savior, to be next to my husband and I. Thank you for reminding me of that. I know without reading your blog today, that my mood would have continued to be nasty, but because of YOUR WORDS, I was uplifted and remembered that if I do what is right, He will take care of the rest. Thank you for putting yourself out there for us all to learn from. Your family is amazing and beautiful and I feel blessed to have read through your experiences. Have a good day!!! Hope from St. George :)
