I finished the Thanksgiving Point Half Marathon in 2:11. Which I think is great, considering I am 15 weeks out from just having a baby. I will own that time proudly.
I had the best experience running. I got a call Friday from a neighbor who was also running the race. Although we have never really talked a whole lot before this, and we have never ran together, She offered to drive me to the race. I thought that was awesome! But then she ran the whole race with me, except the last little bit when I told her to go without me. She very hesitantly started to run ahead and then she continued to look back and make sure I was okay. What an amazing person you are Suzy! Not very many people, (me included) would wait for someone on such a big run. You are amazing, and to think that you and I really didn't even know each other and you did this for me was just amazing! I would not have been able to accomplish this in the amount of time that I did without the encouragement from you, and I thank you so much!!
We had cheerleaders about mile 11, my boys were very happy to see me! I was greeted at the finish line by them with Preston saying "Mom, I can't believe you won." He thought I won because I got a finishing medal...Funny how he didn't notice everyone else got the same medal.
I loved it and I am so glad that I did it. Now I need a another goal to look forward too.
Congratulations!! I am so proud of you for accomplishing this goal. That is so awesome! By-the-way, your shirt looks great!!
