Vanity

Vanity is a funny thing. I can be a very vain person, but over the past year I have changed. I now, most of the time just look to survive. Sam is yellow, I am not sure why. His skin has taken on a yellow tone, mostly likely from his medications. A year ago I might have been looking for a way to stop it, but now I am just glad he is here. He was finally able to mow the lawn. Yes! for the first time this season Sam mowed the lawn. Do you know what that means? Well his new medication is helping him feel so much better. We are on day 6 of feeling good, looking yellow, but feeling good. (No, the yellow has nothing to do with his liver.)

Stockton my oh so handsome young man looks like a train wreck. His face still looks a little rough and now his hand is in a removable cast. He broke a bone in the carpal and metacarpal part of his thumb and now is left handed. I am thinking of bubble wrap for him.

Preston looks rough right now too. He has a cold that has made his face so chapped and he keeps licking his lips and his nose looks so raw from wiping it.

Did I mention that I am not vain....BUT I am.....And next week is picture day at school, so maybe we will just opt out and retry on make-up day. Do you think they will have make-up available on make-up day? Good thing I am not vain, Right?

  2. HEY!!! Finally an update :) I've been looking everyday for one and this is my lucky day.

That's crazy that Sam is looking yellow. But I am SO glad that he is feeling better. It's been a long road for your little family. Stephen and I couldn't believe Stockton broke his thumb... right when this started going a little better. I hope that Preston gets better too. We had a little bug in our family. I have a cough that is nearly killing me or makes me what to kill myself. I would never do such a thing... but it makes for some long nights and rough days.

We love you guys all so very much... you are ALWAYS in our prayer.

  5. Vanity is a funny thing I agree. I am so happy that Sam is feeling better that is so exciting. It is funny you mention bubble wrap for Stockton, Joe and I were talking about getting him some bubble wrap too! I hope Prestons cold goes away soon, I have some new homeopatic oils that you put on their feet that really helps if you want to try some let me know.
And I am really happy that you still have most of your sanity and can still hold your little family together. You are a very strong person Brandi, We love you guys.

  6. I just watched MythBusters where they made a car out of ducktape that was pretty undestructable. Maybe you could wrap Stockton in bubble wrap and then tape it all down with duct tape. Between the two he should be good! :) I am so glad to hear that Sam is doing better. Who isn't vain in one thing or another, if it isn't looks, it is their house, or their yard, etc. etc. You are doing pretty darn good if you ask me! Love you
